With the Fujitsu dexNET 200 and Service Class 2 FAX modems, each page of a transmitted FAX may be "cut short" so as to not, on the receiving end, output any blank, bottom portion of a page. To enable this feature, specify TRUNCATE=1 in the PS_TO_G3 option file and, for dexNET modems, in the G3_TO_FAX option file also.
This option is not supported for the DCE FaxBox/30. However, that modem can be configured to cut short the final page of a FAX transmission. See the manufacturer's setup documentation for details.
Do not confuse this capability with PMDF-FAX's mechanism whereby the blank, bottom half of a FAX page is not transmitted to the FAX modem but the receiving FAX device still receives a full length page. This capability is supported by the FaxBox/30 and the dexNET 200 and is used by default. It is selected with TRUNCATE=1 in the PS_TO_G3 option file (the default) and TRUNCATE=0 in the G3_TO_FAX option file (again, the default).
