PMDF-FAX currently supports the DCE FaxBox/30, Fujitsu dexNET 200, and selected Service Class 2 modems. No other modems are currently supported.
By use of a generic batch queue, multiple cluster members on which PMDF-FAX is installed can simultaneously service the PMDF mail (batch) queue, MAIL$BATCH. The cluster machines which process this queue must each have access to the FAX modem's terminal line. However, this typically requires that the FAX modem be connected to a terminal server port. As an alternative to requiring all cluster members which process a generic mail queue to have access to the FAX modem, PMDF may be instructed to process PMDF-FAX traffic in a queue other than MAIL$BATCH. This other queue can then be isolated to the machine or machines which have access to the FAX modem. See Section 37.6.2 for details. The PMDF-FAX configuration utility automatically configures PMDF to use a processing queue other than MAIL$BATCH for PMDF-FAX processing. |
