The XAPI_LOCAL channel runs the X400_TO_MIME program to retrieve messages from MAILbus 400. The X400_TO_MIME channel program makes an XAPI connection to MAILbus 400 to retreive messages and interprets the FROM_X400 rules database during address conversion. These rules, described further in Section 40.3.3, govern the form of RFC 822 address produced by a given X.400 address and thereby determine the further disposition of the message for recipients for which the PMDF/PMDF-MB400 gateway is responsible.
The X400_TO_MIME channel program is also responsible for converting X.400 P1/P2/P22 message headers and bodies to MIME.
