PMDF System Manager's Guide

While PMDF-FAX itself only accepts text (ASCII) and PostScript based input, PMDF's conversion channel may be used to convert other input formats (e.g., word processing documents, TIFF, GIF, DDIF, etc.) to text or PostScript. To this end, PMDF-FAX provides the program to_ps which may be used to convert the GIF, PM, PBM, XBM, Sun Raster file, Utah Raster Toolkit RLE, JPEG (JFIF), TIFF, and PDS/VICAR image formats to PostScript. An example of using this utility with the conversion channel is given in Section 6.2.3.16.
